Mission Statement

The mission of the Central Junior High School Library Media Center is to ensure that all students have the skills and opportunity to access, evaluate, and use information. The library program strives to prepare our students to be informed, productive, and concerned citizens in an information driven society.

Vision Statement

The Central Junior High School Library Media Program seeks to create a 21st century learning environment that promotes learning for all students by providing equitable access to information, teaching information literacy skills, and encouraging lifelong learning. The library media center strives to be a center of collaborative learning that produces creative students who have an appreciation of print, visual, and media literacy, as well as enhance critical thinking skills.


Mrs. poepsel

Library Media Specialist

Mrs. Poepsel graduated from Mississippi State University in 2008 and spent several years traveling the globe before deciding to become a teacher. In 2013, Mrs. Poepsel and her husband moved to Northwest Arkansas, where she began teaching in Springdale. She taught 9th grade English, French and Oral Communications for 6 years at Central before completing her Masters of Science in Library Media and Information Technologies in 2018. She took over as Central’s LMS in the fall of 2019. She and her husband have one son, and love traveling, reading, and enjoying all that the Ozarks have to offer.

Mrs. Francis

Library Media Assistant

Mrs. Francis just completed her 17th year in the Springdale Public School System. She has worked as a library media assistant for the past 8 years. She has two sons and five grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
